Was this done on paper or digital?
Paper.
The ink (Higgins Black Magic) was dripped onto a 4" x 6" index card and then blown around with a straw. 99% of the black on the piece was done that way. The few curves that look like scales and the webbing at the top were drawn in with a technical pen.
The color was airbrushed with an Iwata Eclipse. Most of the paint was acrylic diluted with water to a spraying consistency. I had no yellow so the yellow was watercolor.
